greetings from 2009!!!!
silk welcomes you back considering we divas have been on an extended
leave from posting here. biggest news for this year - moire, chintz and i are on three different corners of this globe and we intend (fingers crossed here..) to bring you design from across the oceans. my first posting for this year is a link to a fantastic little site online called WORDLE (www.wordle.net) - it brings me the giggles to see some of my favorite words randomly arranged into a visual palette of grays and black. why don't you give it a try and send us any of your creations! looking forward to a fabulous year!
silk wishes for everyone

I want to do one, Silk, but I've gone to the website and it's not obvious how I do it. Can you walk us through the process, please?

no problem moire!
as soon as you get to the site... just below short paragraph explanation of what wordle is... are the much larger words "CREATE your own...".. click on that..
the next window will show you three ways for you to enter your text - i used the first box available and typed in my own words.. words that i use, words that represent things i love.. and words that inspire me. once you have exhausted the Oxford dictionary... i would, for the sake of your sanity copy your text and paste it on a word document... just in case... then click GO at the bottom of the screen.
now it gets to the fun part - you can use the various drop down menus to adjust your text, your word orientation, text color and such. if you want to get a head start and your not sure how to play around with it just yet - you can click randomize at the bottom of the image. this will give you some options to start playing with. once you are please with your layout you can finalize it all by clicking on the print or the save to gallery... button.
in order for me to save this image and place it on here - i had to capture the screen and make some adjustments like croppping etc.
i hope this helps out for anyone that would like to give this a try!
send me a message if you can't and i will help you figure it out.
hope all of you have a smashing day!
cheers!
